Box of Jazz 12’ Vinyl Records
This lot comprises a box of jazz 12’ vinyl records housed in a dark blue carry case with twin metal catches and a handwritten “JAZZ” label on the front. The records are stored upright within the case and include a range of sleeves in yellow, red, teal and cream tones. Titles clearly visible include Orange Kellin in New Orleans, Lou Rawls’ Now Is the Time, a release from the Archive series featuring Johnny Dodds with Weary Way Blues, and Jim Robinson on The Smoky Mary Phonograph Company label. The selection is aimed at enthusiasts of traditional and classic jazz, with a mix of styles and eras represented.
Condition and Collectability
The sleeves show general handling wear, including edge wear, marks and some fading, consistent with records of their age. The Jim Robinson and Johnny Dodds sleeves are protected by plastic sleeves, while the others are presented without. The condition of the discs themselves has not been individually assessed, and no playback has been carried out. The case adds a practical storage element to the lot and may appeal to collectors building a jazz library or those seeking a varied group of vintage records as a starting point.
