Keele St. Pottery Co The Lone Ranger Tonto Egg Cup
This lot is a Keele St. Pottery Co egg cup, identified as The Lone Ranger Tonto Egg Cup. It is a small, footed ceramic cup with a cream glaze, offered as a collectable from the Lone Ranger character range. The form is straight-sided and slightly waisted, with a flared base.
The body of the cup is decorated with fine vertical fluting. A moulded relief figure is applied to one side, set into the fluting, and is intended to depict Tonto. The glaze is smooth and even in its cream tone, and the simple, rounded form gives the piece a charming character typical of novelty tableware of its period.
Condition and Collectability
This egg cup shows general signs of age and use. A small dark mark is visible to the inside of the rim, and the glaze shows some minor surface wear consistent with a piece of its age. No other damage is stated, and the buyer is advised to inspect the item closely before bidding.
The piece will appeal to collectors of Lone Ranger memorabilia, vintage novelty egg cups and British pottery. Its clear relief detail and original cream glaze make it an attractive addition to a themed collection or a display of 20th-century tableware.
