Introduction
This is a large Egyptian brass charger, likely dating from the mid to late 20th century. The charger features intricate, embossed detailing around the rim and central field, typical of Islamic and Middle Eastern metalwork. The design incorporates geometric patterns and stylized floral motifs, reflecting the rich artistic traditions of the region. It would have originally served a decorative purpose, perhaps as a wall hanging or a display piece.
Condition
The charger exhibits signs of age and use, with some patina and minor wear consistent with its age. There are no major dents or structural damage, but the surface shows some surface scratches and discoloration. Despite these imperfections, the charger retains its visual appeal and would be a desirable addition to a collection of Islamic art or decorative brassware. Its aged patina adds to its character and authenticity.
