Victorian Street Scene Painting

This is a large oil painting depicting a bustling Victorian street scene, rendered in a traditional style. The artist, Burnett, captures the energy of the city with detailed brushwork and a vibrant palette. The painting features a wide street lined with buildings, shops, and figures, all framed by an ornate, heavily gilded frame. The composition draws the eye down the street, creating a sense of depth and movement.

Condition and Collectibility

The painting appears to be in good condition for its age, with expected signs of wear consistent with an antique piece. The gilt frame shows some minor loss of gilding, but remains largely intact and adds to the painting’s character. This piece would appeal to collectors of Victorian art, cityscapes, or antique paintings, and would make a striking addition to any home.
