Large Ostrich Egg and Blue Tit Printed Egg on Stand
This lot comprises a large ostrich egg and a smaller printed egg, each displayed on a gilt-coloured metal stand, described as a trivet. The larger egg has a cream-coloured shell with a fine, evenly distributed pitted texture. The smaller egg has a pale yellow ground decorated with a blue tit perched among branches of foliage and small orange berries. Both eggs sit on ornate scrolled stands with four supports.
Condition and Presentation
The larger egg shows its natural surface texture, with no obvious cracks or repairs visible from the photographed angle. The smaller decorated egg has a glossy finish and a small opening at the top, which is fitted with a metal rim. The stands show general wear consistent with age and use. No further condition details are known. This pairing may appeal to collectors of decorative bird-themed objects or to buyers looking for a display piece for a shelf or cabinet.
