Introduction

This is a substantial stone bust depicting Shiva, a principal deity within Hinduism. The carving exhibits traditional iconography, with detailed facial features and elaborate headdress. The scale and weight of this piece suggest it was originally intended for a temple setting or as a prominent garden feature, showcasing the artistry and devotion of its creator.

Condition

The bust displays signs of age and weathering, consistent with an outdoor or long-exposed piece. There are areas of surface erosion and some minor chipping, particularly around the edges. Despite this, the overall form and detail remain remarkably well-preserved, making it a compelling piece for collectors of religious art, garden ornaments, or those interested in Hindu sculpture.
