Le Mans 24 Hours Motor Racing Ephemera Collection

This lot is a large assortment of printed and paper ephemera relating to the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. Visible items include French regional newspapers such as Le Maine Libre and Dimanche Ouest France, an English-language Motoring News Le Mans issue, and several race programmes and magazines including Le Mans 97, a 24 Heures du Mans programme from 1996, and a special edition magazine titled The Passion. Smaller items include a Grand Prix wall calendar, lanyards, a membership card for the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, a Motor Racing Holidays card, and what appear to be race tickets and printed passes. The variety of publications gives a broad view of how the event was reported and promoted through the late 1990s.

Condition and Collector Appeal

The photographs show the lot as a mixed group of papers and printed material, with visible creasing, folding and edge wear on the newspapers and some signs of handling on the magazines. Individual items are not described in detail in the photographs, so buyers should view the images closely and enquire about any specific item before bidding. The collection would suit motorsport enthusiasts, Le Mans fans and collectors of race-day ephemera, as it offers a wide range of contemporary material in one lot.
