Louis Marx & Co Noble Knights Sir Stuart with Accessories

This lot offers a vintage Louis Marx & Co Noble Knights figure of Sir Stuart, shown here with a selection of his original armour and weaponry. Louis Marx & Co was one of the most prolific American toy manufacturers of the twentieth century, and its Noble Knights range gave young collectors a chance to stage their own medieval battles. The figure has a moulded plastic head with painted features, including a moustache and open visor detail, and is dressed in a silver-grey plastic suit of armour. Its articulated arms and legs allow it to hold the accessories in a range of poses. The accessories visible in the photograph include a large shield with rivet detailing, a long-handled halberd-style weapon, a sword, a pair of helmets, arm and leg armour pieces, and a small hook-shaped item.

Condition, Originality and Collector Appeal

The figure and its armour show the expected handling and light surface wear of a toy of this age, including minor scuffs and some faint marks to the grey paintwork. Several smaller pieces are presented loose alongside the figure, so their fit and completeness cannot be confirmed from the photograph. The parts appear to be original to the figure, and the moulded detail on the shield and helmets remains clearly defined. Buyers interested in vintage Marx toys, mid-century playthings or medieval-themed collectables will find this an appealing example for display or restoration. Prospective bidders are encouraged to inspect the photographs closely and ask any questions before the sale.
