Graduated Malachite Bead Necklace
This is a 24-inch graduated bead necklace strung with polished malachite beads. It is a single-strand piece in which the beads increase in size towards the centre and decrease again towards the ends, creating a gently tapering line when worn.
The beads are a rich green with darker banding and swirling markings typical of malachite. A slightly larger bead sits near the centre of the strand, with the remaining beads graduating in size on either side. The beads are separated by small spacer beads, and the necklace closes with a metal barrel clasp. No maker or brand is stated.
Condition and Collector Interest
No detailed condition report has been provided for this lot. The beads appear smooth and the strand is presented as a complete necklace, though this has not been tested or verified, and prospective buyers should satisfy themselves on the condition before bidding. The clasp and stringing should be examined in person or requested from the auction house.
Graduated malachite bead necklaces of this length are sought after by collectors of costume and vintage jewellery who appreciate the banded colouring and the classic graduated design. Its straightforward form and strong green tone make it a practical addition to a jewellery collection or a piece for personal wear.
