Matchbox Powertrack 4000 Boxed Slot Car Racing Set
This lot is a boxed Matchbox Powertrack 4000 slot car racing set. The box artwork is printed with the Matchbox name and the model designation 4000, and it describes 21 feet of racing track in 47’40”. It is presented as a ready-to-run set with a 6 volt power-pack included. The artwork shows red, white and yellow racing cars, banked and looping track sections and a chequered flag, along with sponsor logos including Shell, Bosch, Goodyear, Ferodo and elf. The box also carries the printed age advisory “Not recommended for children under 3 years old”.
Condition, Originality and Collector Interest
The box shows clear wear, including creasing, tears and split corners, most noticeably along the top edge and upper right side. A small price sticker and a round “Ready to Run” label are attached to the front. The contents have not been checked, so the track, cars and power-pack are not confirmed as present or in any particular state. Boxed Matchbox slot car sets appeal to collectors of Matchbox toys and vintage racing memorabilia, and the original packaging artwork is an attractive feature in its own right.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
