Maxitrak 231 Maidstone 5″ Gauge Diesel Locomotive
This is a Maxitrak 231 Maidstone 5″ gauge battery powered diesel locomotive, affectionately named ‘Pluto’. The model is constructed with a blue body, red buffer beams, and a yellow front section. It features a detailed cab area with simulated controls and a prominent ‘PLUTO’ nameplate on the front. The locomotive is designed to run on 5″ gauge track, commonly used in garden railways, and appears to be a representation of a shunting diesel.
Condition and Collector Appeal
This locomotive presents with signs of wear consistent with age and use. The paintwork shows areas of loss and fading, and there is evidence of weathering and minor corrosion, particularly on the buffer beams. Despite this, the model retains a charming character and would appeal to collectors of garden railways, Maxitrak models, or those interested in restoring vintage locomotives. Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
