Vintage Mexican Tiger Mask
This striking mask is a hand-carved and painted wooden depiction of a tiger, originating from Mexico. The mask features a ferocious expression with detailed teeth and vibrant colours, primarily reds, yellows, and blacks. The carving style is expressive and somewhat primitive, indicative of folk art traditions. It’s a bold and visually arresting piece, likely created for ceremonial or performance purposes.
Condition and Collectibility
The mask shows signs of age and wear, with some paint loss and minor imperfections consistent with its vintage nature. These imperfections add to its character and authenticity. This mask would be a desirable addition to a collection of folk art, masks, or Mexican cultural artifacts, appealing to collectors who appreciate unique and handcrafted items.
