Midland 77-099 Citizens Band Mobile Transceiver
This lot is a Midland Model 77-099 Citizens Band (CB) mobile transceiver radio. It comprises a black rectangular base unit with a hand-held microphone, which is fitted with a coiled cable and a push-to-talk button. The main unit carries the Midland name across its top panel and the model branding on its front fascia. Its front panel displays a channel selector, a volume control and a further rotary control, along with a switch marked for transmit and receive functions. Power is supplied by a red and black lead, and the set is fitted with a coaxial aerial connection on its left-hand side. Designed for mobile installation, the transceiver offers the familiar layout of a car-mounted CB set.
Condition and Collector Interest
The radio shows general signs of use, including light scuffing and marks to the black casing and some wear around the front controls. A white label is affixed to the upper right of the top panel. The microphone and coiled cable appear intact, and the aerial lead is present. The lot is offered as seen, and no guarantee is given as to its operation. Its clean, recognisable styling and the Midland name will appeal to collectors of retro communications equipment, CB radio enthusiasts and those restoring classic vehicle fit-outs.
