Antique Porcelain Door Finger Plates

This lot comprises nine porcelain door finger plates, likely dating from the Victorian or Edwardian era. Each plate features a delicately hand-painted floral design on a cream-coloured background, with gilded accents enhancing the ornate detailing. These plates would have originally been fitted to doors to protect the paintwork around the handle and provide a decorative touch, reflecting the aesthetic preferences of the time.

Condition and Collectibility

These porcelain finger plates show signs of age and use, with some minor wear to the gilding and surface scratches consistent with their age. Despite this, the floral designs remain largely intact and vibrant, adding to their charm. These plates would be of interest to collectors of antique door furniture, Victorian interiors, or porcelain collectibles, offering a unique opportunity to restore a period feature or add a touch of elegance to a modern setting.
