Moorcroft for Liberty Pomander in Original Box
This lot comprises a Moorcroft pottery pomander, produced for Liberty, offered in its original box. The piece is a spherical ceramic vessel with a cord loop for hanging and a series of pierced holes to the body, designed to allow the scent of its contents to escape.
The decoration is a stylised floral design of red and orange blooms with green foliage, set against a turquoise ground that shades across the body. The flowers are outlined in the characteristic raised slip-trailed style associated with Moorcroft, and the piece is marked to the base with the Moorcroft name. It is presented in a purple Liberty box bearing a yellow Liberty label.
Condition and Collector Appeal
No obvious chips, cracks or repairs are visible in the photographs, and the cord loop is present. There is some light surface wear and minor marking to the unglazed base and body, and the box shows general handling. The combination of a recognised maker, a named retailer and the original presentation box may appeal to collectors of Moorcroft pottery and of decorative objects sold through Liberty.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
