A Moorish Brass Charger Folding Table
This Moorish brass charger folding table combines a large round brass tray top with a dark wooden base of the type traditionally associated with Moorish-style occasional furniture. The circular charger has a shallow, upturned rim and a broad flat centre. Beneath it, the base has six turned legs, each with a series of decorative rings and a tapered foot, linked by turned spindle stretchers and an X-shaped cross frame. The folding construction is typical of these tables, which were designed to be opened for use and closed for storage.
Condition and Patina
The brass top carries an even patina across its surface, with areas of greenish oxidation and darker brown tones. Light marks and surface wear are visible, consistent with age and use. The wooden legs and stretchers show a dark finish with some scuffing and wear, particularly towards the feet. The table is offered as seen, and the originality of the brass top and turned base adds to its appeal for collectors of Moorish and Islamic-style furniture, as well as buyers looking for a characterful occasional table with an aged, traditional finish.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
