A Retro Transparent Telephone by Mybelle
This vintage wall-mounted telephone is a striking example of 1990s novelty design, produced under the Mybelle Spotlight name. Its clear plastic housing lets the internal circuitry, wiring and mechanisms show through, a hallmark of the see-through electronics craze of the early 1990s. The handset and base are finished with bright accents in magenta, yellow and teal, with a coiled teal cord and a teal-and-yellow keypad panel bearing the Mybelle Spotlight logo. The keypad carries the familiar numbered buttons with letter groupings, along with redial, recall and tone/pulse controls, all visible beneath the transparent casing.
Condition and Collector Appeal
The telephone shows the expected signs of age and use for a piece of this period, and the clear casing and coloured components appear largely intact as pictured. Originality is evident in the vibrant colour scheme and the untouched transparent shell, which is what gives these pieces their character. Buyers should note that the functionality of this telephone has not been tested, so it is offered as a display or collectible item. Its bold 1990s styling and eye-catching see-through design make it appealing to collectors of retro telecoms, nostalgia enthusiasts and anyone looking for a conversation piece for a games room or vintage-inspired interior.
