Box of National Costume Dolls
A box of national costume dolls, offered as a single lot. The contents comprise a quantity of dolls dressed in historical-style costumes, with a number of them laid out separately in front of the box.
The dolls have moulded heads with painted faces and are dressed in richly detailed outfits. Several gowns feature satin fabric in shades of green, pink, red and blue, with cream fur-style collars and cuffs. Other figures wear fitted doublets, velvet trim and headwear, while one has a brown fur-style cape over a patterned tunic. The costumes are fastened to the figures in the traditional manner of this type of doll.
Condition and Collectability
The cardboard box is worn, with visible tears and creasing to its edges and corners. The dolls appear to have been stored together and show general signs of handling, with some garments loose or partly detached from their figures. Condition of individual dolls varies and is best viewed on request.
As a mixed group of costume dolls, this lot may appeal to collectors of historical-themed dolls, those building a themed display, or buyers seeking a varied set of costumed figures for restoration or display projects. The assortment of outfits and styles offers scope for sorting and identifying individual pieces.
