Ornate Metal Hanging Basket
This ornate metal hanging basket is a decorative garden planter finished in white paint. It has a scrolled crown with a suspension chain at the top, from which a domed frame of arched supports and lattice panels descends to a bowl-shaped lower basket. The lower basket is fitted with two curled handles and pierced panels of scrolling foliate detail, and the piece is designed to be hung for display with plants or flowers. The upper section is finished with latticework panels and a rounded, tapering silhouette that gives the piece a traditional, Victorian-inspired character.
Condition and Originality
The white paintwork shows wear throughout, with areas of flaking and exposed rust visible on the scrolls, handles and lower basket. Some of the rust is light surface corrosion, while other sections show more pronounced oxidation to the metal. The overall form and original scrolling detail remain intact, and the surface wear contributes to the piece’s aged, weathered appearance. Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
