Selection of Household and Collectable Items Including an Owl Table Lamp
This lot comprises a varied selection of decorative and household items, headed by an owl table lamp. The lamp has a figure of an owl perched on a dark wooden plinth, with a slender brass-coloured stem and a white flex. Also included are a framed poster advertising a Christmas pantomime production of The Wizard of Oz, a green and white sign reading “Freedom is in Peril, Defend it with all your Might”, and a large flow blue meat plate with a blue floral and foliage pattern. Further pieces include a clear glass square decanter with a stopper, a pair of dark metal candlesticks, two small wooden boxes, and a cream ceramic money box decorated with a nursery design.
Condition and Collector Interest
The items are offered as seen, and no testing has been carried out on the lamp or the electrical adapter included in the lot, so buyers should check these before use. The flow blue plate shows some surface marks, and the lot as a whole shows general signs of age and handling consistent with its type. The mix of a pantomime poster, a wartime-style slogan sign and a flow blue plate may appeal to collectors of vintage ephemera, decorative pottery and theatrical memorabilia, while the owl lamp and candlesticks offer scope for home decor enthusiasts.
