Oxford Sketchbook by Fred Richards
This is a charming sketchbook titled “Oxford” by Fred Richards, dating to 1915. The book features a series of detailed pen and ink sketches depicting various buildings and scenes within the University of Oxford. The drawings showcase Richards’ skill in capturing architectural details and the atmosphere of the historic city, offering a glimpse into Oxford life over a century ago.
Condition and Collectibility
The sketchbook shows signs of age and wear consistent with its age, adding to its character and appeal. The pages are lightly toned, and there may be minor foxing or blemishes, but the drawings remain clear and legible. This sketchbook would be a desirable addition to a collection of vintage books, architectural drawings, or Oxford memorabilia, offering a unique and historical perspective on the city.
