Vintage Paua Shell Tray
This striking serving tray features iridescent paua shell fragments meticulously inlaid into a solid base. Likely originating from New Zealand, this piece showcases the beautiful natural colours of the abalone shell, creating a unique and eye-catching display. The tray’s design reflects the aesthetic of the 1970s and 1980s, a period known for embracing natural materials and vibrant colours in home décor.
Condition and Collectibility
This tray exhibits signs consistent with age and use, including minor surface wear and possible small imperfections in the shell inlay. Despite this, the overall presentation remains vibrant and appealing. This vintage koha tray would be a desirable addition to a collection of mid-century modern or oceanic-themed items, or simply a unique piece to add a touch of natural beauty to a home.
