A Chunky Pine Bookcase with Lower Cupboard
This substantial freestanding pine bookcase combines an open display section with a lower two door cabinet. The upper section has a moulded cornice and an arched apron detail, and contains two shelves set within a plain panelled back. The lower section has two panelled doors, each fitted with metal hinges and a metal pull handle, and the whole piece is raised on a plinth base. The pine has a warm, honeyed tone and the construction is robust, giving the piece a traditional, country character.
Condition and Character
This piece shows the signs of age and use you would expect from a well-used pine piece. There are marks and wear to the surfaces, including the top and the shelves, and the edges show some knocks.
