Vintage Prinztronic Tournament Colour Programmable 2000 TV Game Console
This lot comprises a vintage Prinztronic Tournament Colour Programmable 2000 TV Game console, offered with its original box. The unit is a self-contained home entertainment centre that plugs into a television, with a black casing, a game selection console featuring numbered orange buttons from 1 to 10, power and sound switches, A, B and C option switches, and an orange reset button. A joystick controller for the right player is fitted to the console. The box promotes joystick remote controls, a ten-game colour cartridge with titles including Football, Tennis, Squash, Solo, Hockey, Basketball, Grid Ball, Basketball Practice, Space Target and Skeet, variable ball speed, variable player size, independent variable sound effects, automatic on-screen scoring and compatibility with most UHF television sets. A boxed Grand Prix 2004 game cartridge is also present within the lot.
Condition, Originality and Collector Interest
The original box shows considerable wear, with creasing, cracking, lifted and torn edges, and areas of surface loss to the printed card, particularly along the lower panel and corners. The console appears dusty and has general signs of age. The box artwork and product details are still legible, which contributes to its appeal as an original period packaging example. Vintage TV game consoles of this type, especially when offered with their boxes and additional cartridges, often attract collectors of early home gaming and retro electronics. The lot is offered as seen and should be inspected by the buyer.
