RAF Flying Training Manual
This is a 1941 Royal Air Force Flying Training Manual, Part I – Landplanes, published by the Air Ministry. Marked “For Official Use Only” and “No. 478 Squadron, Air Training Corps”, this manual provides detailed instruction and diagrams relating to the principles of flight and aircraft systems. The manual features numerous technical illustrations, including a detailed lubrication system diagram and comparative angles of approach paths, offering a fascinating insight into the training methods of the era.
Condition and Collectibility
This manual shows signs of age and use, consistent with its likely wartime service. The cover exhibits wear and discoloration, and the binding is secured with original string ties. The pages are tanned and show some foxing, but remain largely legible. This manual would be of interest to collectors of militaria, aviation enthusiasts, and those interested in the history of flight training.
