RBFRC Air Rifle League Medal
This is a hallmarked silver medal awarded by the Rifle Brigade Field Rifle Club (RBFRC) Air Rifle League in 1911/12. The medal is in the form of a cross pattée, with red enamel detailing and a central circular medallion bearing the RBFRC initials and a target motif. It is suspended from a silver loop and a length of ribbon in red, white and blue. The medal is a tangible piece of sporting history, representing achievement in a popular early 20th-century competitive activity.
Condition and Collectibility
The medal shows signs of age and wear, consistent with its age and likely use. The silver has a pleasing patina, and the enamel is largely intact, though with some minor loss. This medal would be of interest to collectors of sporting memorabilia, military history, or hallmarked silver. Its rarity and historical context make it a desirable addition to any collection.
