Red Rose Aluminium Jam Pan with Swing Handle
This lot is a Red Rose aluminium jam pan, bearing the maker’s oval badge and the words “British Made”. The pan has a wide, tapering body and a shallow pouring lip on one side of the rim. A wire swing handle is fixed to the body by a riveted metal bracket, and a second, looped side handle sits on the opposite side. The traditional form suits the stirring and boiling of preserves and other large-batch cooking.
Condition and Points of Interest
The pan shows general wear consistent with use, including scuffs and marks to the exterior and some staining and discolouration around the swing handle bracket. The interior has a brushed, silvery finish. Its British manufacture and traditional jam pan design may appeal to collectors of kitchenalia and to buyers looking for a practical preserving pan.
