Royal Crown Derby Derby Posies Tea Set
This lot is a Royal Crown Derby Derby Posies tea set, comprising a teapot, six cups with matching saucers and side plates, a large serving plate, a small trinket dish, an egg cup and a cake slice with a floral porcelain handle. The set is decorated with the Derby Posies pattern, a floral design of pink, red and yellow blooms with green foliage, scattered across the pieces. The teapot has a twisted handle and a moulded, fluted body, and the cups have scalloped rims. Gilt edging runs along the rims of the pieces, adding a traditional finish to the set.
Condition and Collector Interest
The pieces appear to be in good condition on visual inspection, with the floral decoration and gilding looking bright. Buyers should check each item in person, as the condition of individual pieces has not been fully assessed. Royal Crown Derby is widely collected, and the Derby Posies pattern is among the more recognisable designs from the company. This tea set would suit a collector of English floral porcelain, or a buyer looking for a traditional service for afternoon tea.
