Royal Engineers Swagger Stick
This is a late 19th or early 20th century swagger stick, associated with the Royal Engineers. The stick features a brass top embossed with the Royal Engineers badge – a depiction of the Menai Bridge with a Garter surrounding it, and a crown above. The shaft is crafted from a light-coloured wood, likely ash or similar, and shows a smooth, well-worn finish indicative of regular use. This type of stick was a symbol of rank and authority for officers in the British Army, particularly during ceremonial occasions and parades.
Condition and Collectibility
The swagger stick exhibits signs of age and use, with some minor wear and patina to the brass top and slight imperfections to the wood. It appears to be largely original, with no obvious repairs or replacements. #### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
