Sadler Midsummer Night’s Dream Teapot
This Sadler pottery teapot is themed on Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, moulded in the form of a theatre stage with a painted scene to one side. It is offered as a novelty ceramic teapot from the Sadler range.
Made by Sadler, the teapot has a square, stage-like body with a cream glaze and a raised, scalloped lid. The lid is decorated with a blue fan-shaped motif edged in gold, and a blue banner reads “Midsummer Night’s Dream” in script. One panel shows a painted scene of fairies in a woodland setting, framed by blue drapes that suggest a theatre curtain. The base carries the inscription “William Shakespeare 1564 – 1616”. Gold detailing appears on the spout tip, handle, and finial.
