Satsuma Temple Vase
This is a beautifully decorated Japanese Satsuma lidded temple vase, topped with a sculpted foo dog finial. The vase features intricate, colourful detailing depicting scenes and patterns typical of Satsuma ware. The body of the vase is adorned with detailed panels, showcasing figures and landscapes, all rendered in vibrant enamels and gold accents. The lid is similarly decorated and topped with a detailed, three-dimensional foo dog, a traditional guardian figure in East Asian art.
Condition
This antique Satsuma vase shows signs of age and wear consistent with its history. There are some minor imperfections in the glaze and enamel, and possible wear to the gilding. Despite these minor flaws, the vase remains a striking example of Japanese artistry and would be a desirable addition to any collection of Asian ceramics. The detailed craftsmanship and unique design make it a captivating piece for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. #### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
