Russian Filigree Cup Holders

This set comprises four exquisitely crafted cup holders, showcasing the intricate art of Russian filigree. Each coaster features delicate, openwork designs, likely created using fine silver wire meticulously shaped and soldered onto a base. The ornate patterns suggest a high level of craftsmanship and likely date from the late 19th or early 20th century, reflecting the rich artistic traditions of Imperial Russia. These pieces are designed to protect surfaces from heat and condensation while adding a touch of elegance to any setting.

Condition and Collectibility

These cup holders exhibit signs consistent with age and use, including minor surface wear and possible slight variations in the filigree patterns, which is typical for handmade antique items. While not assessed for silver content, the pieces appear to be crafted from a silver alloy. These coasters would be a desirable addition to a collection of Russian silver or antique tableware, appealing to collectors of decorative arts and those interested in historical craftsmanship.
