This is a hand-carved Shona stone sculpture depicting an abstract family group. Originating from Zimbabwe, Shona sculpture is renowned for its smooth, flowing forms and expressive depictions of people and animals. This piece showcases the artist’s skill in transforming a solid piece of stone into a dynamic and emotive representation of familial bonds. The sculpture’s abstract style allows for individual interpretation, while the overall composition evokes a sense of unity and connection.
Condition
The sculpture appears to be in good condition, with no obvious cracks or significant damage. As a hand-carved piece, minor imperfections are inherent and contribute to its unique character.
