Sidney Home Shepherd Watercolour Study
This is a watercolour study by Sidney Home Shepherd (1909-1993), depicting a semi-clad nude female figure. The work showcases Shepherd’s skill in capturing the human form with delicate washes and subtle shading. The artist’s style leans towards a traditional figurative approach, with a focus on anatomical accuracy and graceful composition.
Condition and Collector Appeal
The watercolour appears in good condition for its age, with expected signs of handling and storage. The paper shows some age-related toning, but the colours remain relatively vibrant. This piece would appeal to collectors of British 20th-century art, particularly those interested in figurative works and watercolour studies. It offers a glimpse into the artist’s process and a beautiful example of his artistic talent.
