Silver Pin Pot and Nail File Set
This charming set comprises a small, lidded pin pot crafted from silver, alongside a matching pair of nail files. The pin pot features a segmented, fluted design to the lid, adding a touch of Victorian elegance. Both nail files exhibit similar decorative detailing to their handles, and are hallmarked with Chester silver marks, indicating their origin and silver content. This set would have been a practical and decorative addition to a dressing table or writing desk.
Condition and Collectability
The set presents with a pleasing patina consistent with age and use. The silver displays some surface scratches and minor wear, particularly to the handles of the nail files, which is to be expected with antique silver items. The lid of the pin pot fits securely. This set is of interest to collectors of antique silver, particularly those specialising in desk accessories or grooming sets, and offers a glimpse into Victorian-era personal care.
