Two Silver Plated Candle Centrepieces
This lot comprises two silver plated candle centrepieces, offered as a pair. Each example has a central candle sconce flanked by two side arms, giving three sockets per piece. The arms are gently curved and rise from a slender baluster column to a shaped square base with a moulded and embossed scrolled border. The drip cups are square-topped with decorative chased rims, and the sconces are of matching design. No maker’s mark is clearly visible on the examples offered, and the pair would suit a traditional dining table or sideboard.
Condition and Collector Interest
The silver plating shows an overall dull, tarnished appearance, with darker toning in the recesses of the embossed bases and the joints of the arms. Some wear is evident to the high points of the decoration, which is consistent with age and use. The two pieces are closely matched in form and decoration, which adds to their appeal as a pair. Buyers interested in table silverware, Victorian and Edwardian style candelabra, or pieces suited to restoration and re-plating may find these of interest. The examples have not been tested for function, and prospective buyers are advised to inspect them carefully before bidding.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
