This is a .999 fine silver Sovereign issued by Gibraltar in 2019, commemorating the 200th anniversary of Benedetto Pistrucci’s iconic Saint George and the Dragon design. The coin features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse, designed by Raphael Maklouf, and the reverse showcases Pistrucci’s masterful depiction of Saint George slaying the dragon. This coin is one of only 100,000 produced as a ‘First Strike’ issue, certified by The London Mint Office, and is a significant addition for collectors of British numismatics.
