Six Limited Edition Christmas Plates
This lot comprises six limited edition Christmas plates, each with a central scene and a gilt-decorated border. Arranged in a set, they show a range of festive motifs and carry annual dates, making them suited to display or to a collection built around the series. The plates are presented on a blue cloth in the accompanying images.
The plates feature raised scalloped rims and a repeating border design in gold, with some pieces also using red, green and blue accents. Visible scenes include an angel with a trumpet, a Christmas tree with figures in folk costume, a sailing ship on waves, a castle among evergreens, a stylised tree with gilt animals, and a dancing couple beneath a decorated arch. The years 1972, 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1977 are legible on the rims of the plates shown. No maker’s mark is evident in the images, so the lot is offered as unbranded.
Condition and Collector Interest
The condition of each plate is not fully described here, and interested bidders are invited to request further detail or additional photographs before the sale. The gilding and decoration appear clearly defined in the images, and the set includes a sequence of dated pieces from the 1970s. Such annual series often appeal to collectors who seek to complete a run of years, or to those drawn to festive decorative china from this period.
