Georgian Gaming Tokens

This lot comprises sixteen brass gaming tokens dating from the Georgian era. These tokens would have been used in various games of chance and skill popular during the 18th and early 19th centuries. The tokens exhibit a consistent size and weight, suggesting they formed a complete set for a specific game, or were intended for use across multiple games. Their simple design and material reflect the practical needs of gaming establishments and private homes of the period.

Condition and Collectibility

These tokens show signs of age and use, with some surface wear and patina consistent with their age. While not pristine, this wear adds to their authenticity and historical character. They are of interest to collectors of antique gaming memorabilia, social history enthusiasts, and those interested in the material culture of the Georgian era. The set offers a glimpse into the leisure activities of the past and represents a tangible link to a bygone era.
