Small Child’s Garden Bench with Cast Iron Ends
This small child’s garden bench has black-painted cast iron ends and a slatted wooden seat and backrest, finished in a red stain. The backrest is fitted with a decorative embossed panel depicting African wildlife, including a lion, an elephant, a zebra and a long-necked giraffe, set among stylised trees and grass. Faded lettering runs across the top rail of the backrest, though it is not fully legible. The bench is offered at a scale suited to young children, with the ornate scrolled arms and tapering legs of the cast iron frame forming its main decorative features.
Condition and Collectable Appeal
The bench shows clear signs of age and outdoor use. The red stain on the wooden slats and backrest has worn and flaked in places, revealing bare, weathered timber, and there is further paint loss to the top rail. The cast iron frame retains its black finish with some surface wear. Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
