Sony Betamax SL-C7 Video Cassette Recorder
This lot is a Sony Betamax SL-C7 video cassette recorder, offered as Lot 160. It is a PAL format machine with a grey finish and a front-loading cassette compartment bearing the Betamax badge. The front panel is laid out with labelled transport controls for eject, rewind, stop, play, fast forward, record and pause, together with picture search buttons and a counter and memory switch. A numeric channel button panel is also fitted to the front. The unit is housed in its original Sony casing and sits upon a matching Betamax C7 base unit.
Condition and Collector Interest
The recorder is offered in the condition shown in the lot description and has not been tested or confirmed as working, so no guarantee of function is given. Buyers should note that any accessories, remote controls, cables or cassettes are not listed and are not included unless stated. Betamax machines are of considerable interest to collectors of vintage consumer electronics and to enthusiasts of early home video formats. Prospective bidders are encouraged to view the lot in person or to contact the saleroom with any questions before the sale.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
