A Unique Piece of Railway History
This unusual loo roll holder originates from St Pancras railway station. It features two plaques, one reading “STOP THE TRAIN” and the other “AIR RAID WARDEN”, suggesting a fascinating history tied to the station’s wartime use and operational procedures. The holder is constructed from metal and displays a distinctive style reflective of the era, likely dating from the mid-20th century.
Condition and Collectibility
The holder shows signs of age and use, with some wear and patina consistent with its history. It is presented as found, and its originality adds to its appeal for collectors of railwayana and vintage bathroom fixtures.
