Vintage Staffordshire Imari Pattern Fluted Bowl
This vintage Staffordshire fluted bowl is decorated in the Imari palette, with a shaped, scalloped rim and a pale ground. The design is built from iron red, cobalt blue and orange-peach motifs, arranged across the interior in a dense, all-over scheme. The bowl’s decoration includes stylised flower heads, trailing foliage, bell-shaped blooms, and panels of blue patterning. Fine gilt highlights and a fine dotted ground add further detail to the surface.
Condition and Collectability
The bowl shows age-appropriate wear overall. There is visible discolouration and a small area of staining on the rim, and the gilding is worn in places. Its original surface decoration remains largely intact and the piece retains its distinctive shaped outline. Buyers interested in English Imari-style wares, vintage Staffordshire pottery or decorative tableware may find this bowl appealing as a display piece or as an addition to a collection of period ceramics.
