This Steepletone 1934 replica cathedral radio is offered as Lot 145. It is a reproduction of the cathedral-style wireless sets of the 1930s, presented here in a modern version of that period design.
The cabinet is a tall, upright box with a marbled brown finish and a glossy top. The front is pierced with a series of decorative fretwork grilles arranged in an arched, stepped pattern around a central vertical slot pair. A circular glazed dial sits in a metal bezel near the base, marked with AM and FM wavebands and the number 1934. Three control knobs are fitted along the lower edge, labelled AM-FM, Tuning and Volume.
Condition and Originality
As a replica, this set is not a genuine 1934 wireless, but it follows the form and styling of the original cathedral radios of that era.
