Silver Wash Set
This antique set comprises a diminutive jug and bowl, crafted from sterling silver. The pieces exhibit a classic, understated design, typical of Victorian-era silver wash sets. Hallmarks are visible on both pieces, indicating the silver content and potentially the maker, though further research would be needed to confirm details. The set’s small size suggests it may have been intended for a specific purpose, such as a travel set or a child’s wash basin.
Condition and Collectibility
The jug and bowl present with signs consistent with age and use. There is evidence of wear to the silver surface, and some minor imperfections may be present upon close inspection. Despite this, the set retains a pleasing aesthetic and would be of interest to collectors of antique silver or those seeking a charming piece of Victorian ephemera. The hallmarks and silver content add to its appeal and potential value.
