Two Vintage Subbuteo Table Soccer Boxes
This lot comprises two boxes for the Subbuteo Table Soccer game, one for the Continental Club Edition and one for the World Cup Edition. Subbuteo is a long-established British name in table football, and both boxes carry the Subbuteo Regd. branding. The Continental Club Edition box is printed in green with the wording “The Replica of Association Football” and a scene of players in action beneath the title. The World Cup Edition box is also green, with red lettering and a golden trophy motif.
Box Condition and Collector Interest
The boxes display bright, colourful artwork typical of the period, with the printed text and illustrations clearly legible. Both show the general signs of age and handling that would be expected of vintage packaging. The Continental Club Edition box carries the wording “Reproducing all the thrills of real football by” along its lower panel, while the World Cup Edition box lists its contents, including floodlights, scoreboards, international teams and a playing cloth, as printed on the side panel. Vintage Subbuteo boxes of this kind are of interest to collectors of retro board games and British toys, and the two editions make an attractive pairing for anyone building a collection.
