Five Suitcases and a Leather Doctor’s Briefcase
This lot comprises five suitcases and one leather doctor’s briefcase. The group includes a large black case with brass-coloured catches and a carry handle, a black softer-sided case with buckle straps, a tan hard-shell case with a rounded top handle, and a smaller black zipped case with a leather carry strap. A black fabric-bodied gladstone-style bag with leather trim and a zip closure is also included. The brown leather briefcase has a front flap, a brass-coloured clasp and a shoulder strap fitting, and forms the sixth item in the lot.
Condition and Collector Appeal
Wear is visible across the lot, with scuffing and surface marks to several cases, and a worn area to the tan case. The large black case shows a faded label area on its front, and the fabric bag has a damaged zip section and worn trim. Original fittings, such as the brass-coloured catches and buckles, appear to be present on most pieces. Items of this type may appeal to collectors of travel luggage, those seeking props or display pieces, and buyers looking for a group of period-style cases and a traditional leather briefcase. Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
