Taxidermy Fox Head
This is a vintage taxidermy fox head, skillfully mounted on a wooden shield. The work is attributed to H R Bennett, a taxidermist whose name is visible on the shield. The fox exhibits a naturalistic pose, with detailed fur and glass eyes, creating a striking and somewhat unsettling display piece.
Condition and Collectibility
The taxidermy head shows signs of age and wear, consistent with its vintage nature. There are minor imperfections to the fur and shield, but overall it presents well. This piece would appeal to collectors of taxidermy, Victorian curiosities, or those seeking a unique and conversation-starting wall decoration.
