Taylor’s Select Port and Cockburn’s Fine Old Ruby Port Lot
This lot comprises two bottles of port wine from two well-established shippers: a bottle of Taylor’s Select Port and a bottle of Cockburn’s Fine Old Ruby Port. The Taylor’s bottle carries a dark blue label bearing the 1692 crest and the words “Select Port”, with the label stating that it is matured in wood and is a product of Portugal. The Cockburn’s bottle has a dark blue label reading “Port Fine Old Ruby”, with the label naming Cockburn Smithes & Co. Ltd as shipper. Both bottles have dark glass bodies and their original capsules, and they are offered together as a mixed pairing of ruby-style and select-style ports.
Sealed Condition and Collector Interest
Both bottles are described as sealed and are offered in the condition in which they were presented for sale. Buyers should be aware that no further information on vintage, bottling date or fill level has been provided, and the lot is offered as seen. Sealed bottles from established Douro shippers such as Taylor’s and Cockburn’s are of interest to drinkers and private collectors, and the pairing of a Taylor’s and a Cockburn’s bottle makes this lot a useful addition to a cellar or a gift for a port enthusiast.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that once a bid is placed we will not be able to issue any refunds unless there is a clear and obvious error made by ourselves in the item title, in the event of an incorrect bid being placed, you must contact us on the mobile phone number 07904 339160/description.
Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
