Introduction
This is a watercolour painting depicting a Thames barge sailing on calm water, signed ‘Hall’ to the lower left. The artist has captured the serene beauty of the river landscape with delicate brushstrokes and a muted colour palette. The barge is rendered in detail, reflecting the light on the water and creating a sense of peaceful movement.
Condition
The watercolour appears to be in good condition for its age, with some expected minor age-related wear. The painting is not framed, allowing the collector to choose a setting that best suits their taste. This piece would be of interest to collectors of British maritime art, river scenes, or works by Hall, and offers a charming glimpse into a bygone era of river transport.
